Many AR15/M16 type rifles are now equipped with Picatinny rails gas blocks without front sights. This fold down front sight attaches securely to the front gas block. The sight remains out of the way until needed, and easily flips up to the standard A2 front sight height. Spring loaded release must be depressed to place the sight in down position.
