Infantry soldiers have long used it to screen movements while engaged with the enemy. It can also be used as a signaling device to send for help in the woods while on a hunt. Is great on the paintball field to cause confusion to an opponent in order to take the advantage. Description: The Continuous Discharge, Colored Smoke Grenade delivers a cloud of Colored Smoke with a discharge time of around 30 seconds. These Grenades are used for training and screening purposes. They are also very effective in creating a diversion for certain tactical operations.

History/Background: The Continuous Discharge, Colored Smoke Grenade was developed to overcome proximity issues with insubordinate subjects. The round expels an instant emission of Colored Smoke for quick coverage and deterrence by individuals engaged in undesirable behavior.

Smoke Launchable or Hand thrown Operational Limitations: Countermeasures:
A. Personnel deploying these munitions, should wear protective masks.
B. Shields, heavy flora, natural or man-made cover, wet cloths, or NIOSH/CBRNE respirators. Man made ventilation systems may cause dispersion of chemicals into unintended areas.
C. Weather/Environment Limitations: Rain, wind and falling snow.
D. Level of incapacitation may be affected based on individual mental state, motivation, physical characteristics or drug/alcohol intoxication level.
E. Legal, fratricide, multi-shot/recycle time, number of shots, shot/long term human effects: When using the appropriate launch adapter on 12 gauge or 37mm gas guns, individuals may recycle the system 2 to 3 times a minute based on the training level. Launched or thrown munitions may produce lethal trauma when vital areas are struck by causing skull fractures, rupture of vital organs, heart compression and or serious skin lacerations.
Documentation Requirements: It is recommended that officers training records be annotated to indicate proper training of less lethal munitions and their use has been accomplished.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Never aim at an individual or at a group of individuals. Launchable or hand thrown ammunition can cause contusions, abrasions, broken ribs, concussions, loss of eyes, superficial organ damage, serious skin lacerations massive skull fractures, rupture of the heart or kidney, fragmentation of the liver, hemorrhages and/or death. Medical assistance should be available immediately after an actual deployment of a less lethal munition even if no physical injuries appear on subject or subjects. Pyrotechnic chemical munitions should not be launched or thrown onto roofs, into rooms, dry foliage or similar environments without fire suppression equipment being readily available.
